Statistics

The library has 7,227 registered borrowers and of these 5,008 were active in 2000. They made a total of 70,130 loans in 2000, up a massive 7.8% on the 1999 years figures of 64,651. This increase in loans tends to suggest that more and more users are embracing the new library service after its move from the old established public library site in Wilson Street.

A total of 46,453 members of the public and TAFE students entered and exited the library via the front entrance and 96,932 school students and staff entered and exited the building via the rear entrance. These figures can be used to determine numbers for both monthly and daily visits to the library. On average there were 3,871 public and TAFE library users per month and 8,077 school users.
